Washington DC

At last Washington DC, the last few days of our trip before returning to New York by train and flying home. We have taken a ride on the Big Bus today and will again tomorrow as Washington is huge, as was new York, its impossible to walk to everything. We are staying in a hotel right near Union Station, walking distance to The Capitol which is handy so we did walk there on the first afternoon here. Today we went to several of the Smithsonian Museums and also The Lincoln Memorial tonight. We went past The White House and hope to visit it tomorrow. The W. House and The Monument are visually impressive and the sheer size of the buildings here in itself are quite stunning. I prefer our cities much more as they are smaller!
The Cherry Trees, a gift from Japan are in blossom and look beautiful, there are approximately 4000 or more these days.
Another highlight of today was seeing Dorothy's shoes from The Wizard of Oz.

    1. Yes the cherry blossoms are lovely, they dominate and people come here especially to see them. The Smithsonian Museums are so big it would take ages to go through them properly. Its Spring break here so there are kids everywhere too! LOL The shoes are a fave of course,
