Well how wonderful to see the sun shining. The difference in the temperature is huge, or at least it seems so. We didn't have to rug up quite as much. Today we left the apartment on foot to walk to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was a long way and we were able to once again walk in parts of central Park, with the snow everywhere. We walked into the Strawberry fields memorial to John Lennon and heard a guy playing guitar and singing some of his songs. Many people were gathered around taking pictures of the mosaic like circle on the pavement with Imagine written on it. Once again on our way we finally made it to The Met, what a wonderful Museum, we only scraped the surface on the amount of things we could see. Lovely paintings, sculptures, photographs etc etc, one would need days to see it all. After we had finished our visit we walked home, my legs and feet were killing me but a great day all the same. |

ReplyDeleteGreat to see the sun shining, lovely pics and love the paintings. I remember Miss Fisher's episode about French painters and Cezane was mentioned, but didn't know that was his style of painting! Stephen Russell is doing very well I would say to be in downtown Manhattan!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha Jan we did laugh when we saw the Stephen Russell sign !!! That one is definitely doing well selling luxury vintage jewellery apparently. Yes Cezanne is rather nice I feel. The sun is shining again today thank goodness! xx
ReplyDeleteDid you see the Dakota building (where Lennon was shot) not far from the Lennon memorial?
ReplyDeleteYes saw the Dakota building and took pics out the front. Impressive place.
DeleteSunshine how nice, looks like you had a busy day. Lovely pic Trace :)
ReplyDeleteYes sunshine Michelle woohoo! It makes it so much easier, today Monday was sunny again. Wednesday is meant to be cold and cloudy again but we're booked in for a show inside so shouldn't be too much of a problem.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to work out why Steve loves that painting so much!
