Grand Canyon

Today was "WOW" day, flying to the Grand Canyon! We boarded our plane and flew 45 minutes to Arizona and then got onto a bus to head to the Maverick Base where we boarded our helicopter. I have never been on a helicopter before and was a bit reticent about it but once in the air I never looked back, it was really really enjoyable. We flew over land and then ahead of us was the vast drop into the Canyon. Our pilot gave a good commentary and made the flight very enjoyable. After we had our mandatory photos taken we then got back on the bus and were driven to an area where we could view the canyon and take pictures. Lunch was provided and we had an hour left to finish the day. I managed to purchase a small jar made by the Indians from the district and then it was back to the plane for the trip back to Vegas, a great time had by all!

Inside the aircraft, we were allowed up front to have a look!

Spectacular!

The Canyon is massive, the Colorado river runs through it.

    1. Hi Scott, It was all the same company. Maverick Tour company run the aircraft Beech 1900's and also have a lot of helicopters. We saw more than ten helicopters belonging to them.
