New York!

Well after a long day yesterday we slept in late this morning before venturing out. It was midday before we left the apartment or thereabouts but with the sun out and being rugged up we managed well outdoors.  We went down to 5th Avenue and watched some of the St Patrick"s day Parade before finding a coffee shop for our first Latte of the day. On from there we walked down to Central Park and had a long walk there before seeing the Dakota Building, where John and Yoko lived. Not far along from there was the New York Historical Society Museum. This was really quite good and I even managed to take a picture of Dr OZ from TV fame. (Mum likes this show, so I got the picture for her.) I'm sure Dr Oz was totally uninterested in me taking his picture but I took it anyway.
It was time to return back to our apartment after that so we dropped into a shopping Centre and bought groceries to make dinner and arrived home around 8.00 p.m

Standing on a rock!

Burly policemen looking out for us during the St Pat's day march
A chilly tourist!

Central Park scenery

More snow!

Stephen trudged through the snow to the other side, I took the path around the edge and we met up at the same time!
Asked some American's to take our photo and they were happy to oblige.

Love this coffee shop in the Museum

Guess who?  Dr OZ and George Kalinsky who photographed Muhammed Ali as well as the deceased photographer that took the photos in the exhibition, LeRoy Neiman

Bagpipers in the march

More colour

This lovely group of girls were so happy and looked great!

This cute squirrel....I just had to take a photograph!

Ali actually drew this, I wasn't meant to take a pic but only noticed the dont photograph sign after I took it.

Also by Ali
The Dakota Building where John Lennon was tragically killed.

There was a tattoo exhibition too which was extremely interesting

This guy was happy to have his photo taken while being tattooed in the museum.

    1. Its colder today and we've had snow and rain! We are staying in Manhattan, its a great spot, close to plenty of things. I thought Dr Oz looked older too. We have booked to see a Noel Coward play starring Kevin Kline next Wednesday, looking forward to that,. The weather was a bit trying today but still made the most of it. xx

  3. Love your pics Trace, especially Central Park which looks so pretty with all the snow and fun to experience a bit of St Patrick's Day celebrations too. It sounds like you have really settled in well into New York. The temperature and conditions look similar to Calgary, so I know how cold you must be feeling...brrrr.
